Pray

We give out of gratitude because Jesus was generous to us!

“For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich.”

2 Corinthians 8:9

Cross

We Invest in Eternity.

In what will last—God’s mission.

19 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also."

Matthew 6:19–21

Seedling

6 "The point is this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. 7 Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work."

2 Corinthians 9:6–8

I want to start my generosity journey today.

I want to begin a life of stewardship at CG.

Giving Guide

This guide can help you make a thoughtful, clear decision rather than guessing. Numbers in the chart reflect a percentage of total annual income given in monthly installments over a 12-month period.

PATH TO GENEROSITY

1. Initial Giver

An Initial Giver is someone who decides to give for the first time, out of a response to God’s Word about giving. They decide to give something and trust God and the leaders of the church with this gift. They experience the initial joy of putting Jesus’ words into action (Matthew 7:24).

2. Consistent Giver

A Consistent Giver decides to exercise the discipline of giving as a disciple of Jesus. Often, this giver decides to make their gift an online recurring gift and will be learning the joy of consistency. Non-online givers can be consistent givers as well, of course; it just requires more discipline. They begin to feel a part of something substantial and bigger than themselves.

3. Priority Giver

A priority giver is an intentional giver who prioritizes generosity to God’s kingdom through the local church. They see the church as God’s “Plan A” and prioritize their giving to that cause. One distinctive of a priority giver is they may become a percentage giver — intentionally giving a percentage of their money to the local church. By prioritizing the local church, they join in God’s “Plan A” work.

4. Generous Giver

A Generous Giver embodies the spirit of 2 Corinthians 9:7 where the verse concludes with these words: “. . . God loves a cheerful giver.” This growing generous spirit grows above and beyond and informs how they use everything they’ve been blessed and entrusted with –from monetary giving to God-honoring use of their home and other possessions. Their trust in God’s provision steadily grows knowing that He will supply resources for their continued above-and-beyond generosity (2 Corinthians 9:10-11).

5. Legacy Giver

A Legacy Giver seeks to have their giving make a multiplying impact even after their time on this earth has concluded. This giver has been captivated by the knowledge that the more they are led to “do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share,” the more they are laying up a foundation of eternal treasures as they “take hold of that which is truly life” (1 Timothy 6:18-19). This encourages them to keep growing! They make all decisions (purchases, savings, giving, relationships, service) in light of how it affects their eternal impact. This is the ultimate stewardship goal for every disciple of Jesus. They are driven by eternity, putting their hope in God and not in the things of this world.
